    Practice nurse project
The practice nurse project aims to:
    1. Improve the professional capacity of practice nurses.
    2. Assist general practices to take advantage of the opportunities practice nursing brings to the care of patients.
    3. Assist general practice with the recruitment, orientation and retention of practice nurses.

    Practice support (incl IMIT)
The practice liaison project provides a link between the division and general practice, disseminating information and providing in-house training and telephone support to GPs and practice staff. Supported areas include chronic disease management, medical software and information management (with IMIT project staff), incentive payments and accreditation.

To view a range of 2005 EPC templates designed by a local GP, go to the Resources chapter and look up the Chronic Disease Management Templates category.

    Practice Staff Locums
Practice Staff Locums is the business arm of the division, which has been set up to provide a locum service to general practices in the Northern Rivers. The locum service provides practice nurses, practice managers and receptionists for sick and holiday relief, as well as to undertake special projects and meet practice training needs. Go to the
