Meet Spike in Ballina! |
Parents and children are invited to meet Spike Echidna in Ballina Fair shopping centre this Saturday 10 May between 11.00am and 1.00pm. Spike is the mascot of the new vaccine information website set up by the Northern Rivers Public Health Unit and the Northern Rivers Division of General Practice.
There will be lots of giveaways such as balloons, stickers, fliers, drawings to colour in and mini Spike Echidnas.
Provided for parents, the website answers common questions, provides immunisation news, articles and links to other sites.
Following his successful first outing in Lismore a few weeks ago, the division and public health unit say they are looking forward to introducing him to the children of Ballina and promoting the “Vax ’em!” website to their parents.
All are welcome. The site can be viewed on http://www.vaccination.org.au.
